10 October: Poetry Evening

Sherborne Literary Society is hosting a poetry evening jointly with the Amateur Players of Sherborne on Friday 10th October for SLS and APS Members only. Doors open 7pm for 7.30pm start, at the Sherborne Studio Theatre, Marston Road, Sherborne, DT9 4BL. 

The evening will in four sections, each with a different theme. Curated by Louise Troup, the selection of poems will range from classical to modern, well-known to less so and from popular or light to more insightful and thought-provoking works. Expect everything from Shakespeare and Browning, through Dylan Thomas, Sassoon, Owen and Hughes to the present day. The works will all be read by APS members.
