£10,000 Travel Writing prize winner to be announced in April 2026

Travel writers are bridge builders, venturing out into the world to understand different peoples, cultures and times. Empathy lies at the heart of their work, and the fundamental belief that through better understanding others we can better know ourselves.

The first annual £10,000 Sherborne Prize for Travel Writing will be awarded at the Sherborne Travel Writing Festival in April 2026 to a published British or European author whose work encourages understanding between peoples and across societies.

The shortlist has been chosen from the nearly 50 entries, and the judges will award the winner, who will take to the stand, at the 2026 Sherborne Travel Writing Festival 10-12 April..
